The Tale of the First Gimmie Hat (Est. May 2025)
The Story
Long before Gimmie Golf Co. was a household name in every clubhouse from Pebble Beach to backyard putting greens in Bakersfield, there was just one hat.
It was May 2025. Eddie Gutierrez, wife, and his son were sketching ideas in a garage that smelled like fresh tees, stale sunflower seeds, and the distant scent of Top Flite compression. They weren’t trying to build an empire, they just wanted a hat cool enough to wear on the back nine and bold enough to make the group ahead turn around. That’s when the first-ever Gimmie Snapback was born.
It was simple—off-white crown, deep green bill, and bold block embroidery that read:
“Gimmie Golf Co."
It was cheeky. It was vintage. And it told the truth.
The Legend
Now, here’s where it gets legendary.
While golfing near the old Bakersfield canal, Eddie hit a worm burner that rolled mysteriously straight and true. As he approached the green, he saw something wild: a little gopher wearing a miniature visor, nudging his ball toward the hole.
Instead of scurrying off, the gopher just looked up, crossed his arms, and gave Eddie a smirk. That’s how Sneaks got his name—he didn’t just sneak balls into gimmie range, he sneaked into hearts everywhere.
Rumor has it Sneaks was once an underground caddie at Augusta National. Fired for excessive gimmie calls, he found his new home with Gimmie Golf Co. He now serves as the brand’s mischievous mascot—the only rodent who’s got more style than your Sunday foursome.
The Legacy
Only 42 original Vintage Gimmie hats were made that year. Each one hand-sewn, sweat-soaked, and sun-bleached on real courses by real degenerates. They became instant legends.
